The new ASPM facility is now complete, and we are at full production capabilities. We just installed our 82nd injection molding machine, and recently brought it up into production.
The location for our injection molding was determined by a close proximity to Minco Tool and Mold, and two of the largest highways in America, I-70 and I-75. We also have the support from Dayton, OH, a strong manufacturing hub.
The new building was started in November 2011. Thanks to a great winter, we started moving in during the summer of 2012. The first machine was an 1100-ton, double-wide, UBE injection molding machine. Later in 2012, we began adding 60,000 square feet to the building, for a total of 202,000 square feet. In 2013, we consolidated our Dayton and Fairborn ASPM operations. We continued adding new injection molding machines, and secondary equipment, through 2014.
The new facility includes many redundant systems, switchgear, cooling towers and compressed air. Enhancements include bright T-12 lighting, 13 dock doors, and five crane systems spread across three separate crane bays.
Thanks to all of our loyal customers for making 2014 a great year for The Minco Group.
